In General: This week as Mars turns direct; we can look forward to a burst of affirmative energy! It has been a long time coming and it’s a relief for many! Finally life can begin its forward movement again, projects and plans that have been waiting for “the right time” will at; last start to actually happen! The new Moon in Pisces on the 16th opens more doors and the positive energy flows with even more gusto! A Pisces new moon favours healing of emotional and spiritual hurts, creative endeavours and self help programs. Venus in Aries this week and into the month’s end will add a spontaneous and open energy to relationships. There is a daring restless energy here that can only be true to itself when letting go of the past and moving forward! Relationships are apt to intensify, which can be a good thing provided we avoid the pitfall of becoming too demanding!! If you have a birthday this week then expect a lively and challenging year ahead! On the world scene we can expect some action on matters that have been long talked about in political arenas and some unexpected directions to be taken with this! Locally it’s a bright, positive time to be used with vigor.

Astral Peeks: Astrology and Shakespeare:
In all of Shakespeare's 37 plays there are more than a hundred allusions to astrology, and many of his characters' actions are said to be favored or hindered by the stars. Elizabethan poetry in general contained a cosmic order that included stars, the planets, the sun and the earth. There was a general fear of chaos and upsetting the order of things. The heavens were eternal and made of ether, while everything under the moon--such as man--was subject to decay. The interest in astrology and the influence it exercised on the public mind in Shakespeare's time is nowhere better illustrated than by some of the allusions he makes to astrology in his plays.
In King Lear, we find the aged King thus commenting on the belief of the influence of the stars on the destiny of man:
"And take upon's the mystery of things,As if we were God's spies and we wear outIn a wall'd prison pacts and sects of great onesThat ebb and flow by the Moon."
