On Thursday 2 December Mars sextiles Neptune. The Sun and Mercury also sextile Neptune later this December from the same place in Sagittarius and they will all square Uranus from the same degree too. This intense concentration of energy sets the tone for December. It’s a time for heightened awareness, but it can also be a time for extreme religious opinions. On the world scene we might see some religious mania or volatile reactions against apparent restrictions of freedom.

On December 6th the New Moon is in Sagittarius. At the same time the Moon and Sun conjoin in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is all about deeper spiritual journeying and broadening our inner horizons. It’s an important time to be open to new and inspirational ideas. Relationships can be surprising in the nicest possible way. A Sagittarian New Moon can bring heightened energies for whatever is taking your attention. It is also a time to contemplate or begin a new adventure, to discover your true inspiration, or gain a more expansive perspective on life. Mercury conjunct Pluto also at this time means intense thoughts and profound insights. The 21st gives us a Full moon in Gemini and a total Lunar eclipse. There’s a lot of big talk and grand plan making at this time indicating the start of some radical changes. Since Mercury is retro however, all these ideas and plans can’t actually go anywhere until around January 1, when things are able to move forward again. In the mean time this full moon can mean some very serious discussions and whilst these may seem to start out in a very rational way, the emotional build up also apparent at this time may see these discussions ending up as arguments!

Christmas day seems influenced in a very complex way by Uranus and Jupiter squaring off with Mercury. Miscommunications, sudden and revealing revelations and overreactions are all possible. If you can remember to be unselfish and open, keeping the Christmas spirit of peace and love uppermost all will be well!
