In General: This week has a Waxing moon in Taurus making it hard to shake off issues from the previous moon cycle. Venus and Pluto conjunct on the 9th suggesting an element of compulsive behaviour! Insistent, forceful feelings surface now. Jealousy, guilt and other more negative emotions readily arise. The First Quarter Moon occurs on the 11th when the Sun in Aquarius forms a square with the Taurus Moon. There is a predicament here as individuals feel compelled to act but are more deeply aware of how their actions affect those who are close. Mercury trine Saturn on the 14th bolsters the powers of concentration and organization. It’s an excellent opportunity to focus on long range planning and decisions regarding personal security. Business enterprises are favored. Mars is in Aquarius from January 15th ending the week with lively yet erratic energy levels. If you are having a birthday this week then you can expect to enjoy a year ahead filled with study, investment, and career opportunity. On the world scene it’s a feisty week and tempers may flare. After years of careful examination, a group of Australia's most eminent astro-physicists is starting to believe that this pile of rocks west of Melbourne is a discovery that could turn history upside down.
Dubbed Wurdi Youang, the strange stone arrangement was found on property near Mt Rothwell, 80km west of Melbourne - its two points set in perfect alignment with the setting sun on a midsummer's day.
CSIRO experts believe the ancient Aboriginal sundial could be upwards of 10,000 years old, an estimate that would have it pre-date the famous Neolithic Stonehenge and the only remaining ancient wonder of the world, the Egyptian Pyramids.
CSIRO astro-physicist Professor Ray Norris said the precise alignment of the stones proved it was constructed to map the sun.
