In General: The week begins with the Moon in Leo. Relationship issues are highlighted and as the Moon confronts Venus in Aquarius we can expect to experience an emotional flood of frustration and angst! The Moon then moves into earthy and practical Virgo on March 17, putting a practical bent to this overt emotionalism! We are encouraged to be tolerant! On the 20th a full moon will come closer to earth than any other moon in 18 years! The Full Moon occurs at perigee - that’s the part of the Moon’s orbit which brings it closest to Earth. But don’t expect to see too much, the Moon will only be 15% bigger than the year’s smallest Full Moon which occurs in October. Mars enters Aries on the 20th, and there’s a fairly sudden shift of energy as a feeling of urgency and action takes over. Patience won't be enough anymore, it’s time to get up and get moving! The twentieth is also our Southern Hemisphere Autumn Equinox, We now begin to wind inward to the still point or darkest night of winter! In this phase we recognize that some things are slipping away and that it is time to let them go from our lives and so make room for the new seeds to form and grow.If you have a birthday this week then expect a volatile and busy year ahead, with much to do, see and experience. On the world scene there is more chaos ensuing and certainly anything to do with Mars is highlighted, aggression, war, physical activity, impatience, fire, and violent activity as well as motivation, action and an end to procrastination! Locally practice tolerance and put your energy into others more than the self.

Relationships and their attendant issues can reach a climax around the Full Moon on the 20th so be prepared to speak your mind clearly and then let things go. There is a lot of admiration and kudos from others this week to help you keep positive.

Astral Peeks: Perigree Moon
On March 20, the moon will swing around Earth more closely than it has in the past 18 years, lighting up the night sky from just 221,567 miles (356,577 kilometers) away. It will also be full. Richard Nolle, a noted astrologer who runs the website astropro.com says, chaos will ensue: “huge storms, earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural disasters can be expected to wreak havoc on Earth.”
So what is the scientific world’s view? Scientists have studied related scenarios for decades. According to John Vidale, a seismologist at the University of Washington in Seattle and director of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, particularly dramatic land and ocean tides do trigger earthquakes. "Both the moon and sun do stress the Earth a tiny bit, and when we look hard we can see a very small increase in tectonic activity when they're aligned," "Practically speaking,” he also says however, “you'll never see any effect of lunar perigee, it's somewhere between 'It has no effect' and 'It's so small you don't see any effect.'"
"Earthquakes don't respond as much to the tides as you'd think they would. There should actually be more of an effect," says Vidale.
Most natural disasters have nothing to do with the moon at all. The Earth has a lot of pent up energy, and it releases it anytime the buildup gets too great. The super moon probably won't push it past the tipping point, but we'll know for sure, one way or the other, by March 20. Food for thought certainly….we have a buildup of earth activity already so it will be an interesting theory to test as we move closer to the 20th! (In so saying my heart goes out to all those who have suffered under this build up of earth energy, recently, may we value each other more preciously and give whatever help we can.)
