In general: The Sun conjuncting Pluto this week can make individuals anxious and difficult so it’s wise to be prepared to find a way around matters not worth fighting for and to opt for peace wherever possible. We may also feel a stronger than usual need for independence and the personal freedom to do things our own way. People could be quick-tempered on New Year’s Eve with Mercury and Mars going into war mode on that night. Watch out for arguments and again try to opt for the peaceful solution where possible. As 2012 begins we will be faced with a complex and perplexing energy. Individuals will need to keep clear about where they are heading and what the really important stuff is. If you have a birthday this week then it’s time to take a deep breath and move forward regardless of the obstacles. It can be a great year of growth and achievement but only if you rise to the challenge. On the world scene we can expect some more of nature’s challenges and some more power plays between differing factions. It’s a volatile time. Locally try to be your calmest self and keep smiling.

Trying to get others to understand just about anything is difficult now so it’s best not to have any expectations. Be practical about all matters this week and get some of those unfinished tasks out of the way. Others may pay attention to you more than usual this week. Keep in mind that others will notice whatever you do now!

Taurus
You are into breaking old routines this week and trying new things. Just be careful that you don’t lose track of all the normal responsibilities you still have. Travel and new opportunities are offered to you and it’s looking good for you to go with this. However just be wary of any advice re finances, trust your gut here.

Gemini
It’s a great time to pamper yourself and take some time for you. Finances are due for a boost and things are looking good for you guys as you move into the New Year. Anything to do with career is favoured now and will be the cause for some celebration. Early January is all about enjoying time with friends.

Cancer
Relationships are very nicely favoured now and they can bring a new sense of commitment from you. Career is due to be thrown a few curve balls this week and into January but the stability and success you are after is soon to be yours so just ride this out. Friends become more important on some way.

Leo
New work assignments are likely and these will put you in an excellent position for success in mid-2012. A new fitness regime will become a stayer in your life if you begin now and you will reap some excellent benefits as a result. The few days left of December are some of your best romantically so make the most of this!

Virgo
This week heralds a very nice period for your romantic life. The few days around New Year are particularly powerful for you and some major shifts will have you refocusing your goals for 2012. You are unusually energised now and can accomplish many great things. It seems easier to take control of things now too.

Libra
You are called upon to be your most caring, diplomatic and gentle self this week! Others will need this from you as they are vulnerable and feeling emotionally challenged now. It’s a lot about family now, so let it be about family!! Your turn for the spotlight will come. Accept the flow of things and just go along peacefully.

Scorpio
You are moving into a more abundant period both emotionally and financially. You also need some down and alone time this week to rejuvenate your rather stressed and over worked self. If you can take a break then do it! Partnerships can ask a lot of you but they give a s much in return. Be appreciative.

Sagittarius
As you move closer to the New Year all things seem to get simpler and easier and you feel more comfortable with yourself. Creative projects do well now and romance is also very nicely highlighted. Rest up and reenergise as busy times and new projects are just around the corner! It’s going to be a successful year.

Capricorn
You may find family hard to manage this week and someone can really try your patience. It’s best to go with the flow and not get too unhinged! At best it’s an unpredictable time with all manner of out of character happenings going on. The next few weeks will illuminate some positives so just be patient.

Aquarius
Make an extra attempt at kindness in words and action now as others are very sensitive this week. Arguments can happen all too easily. The 29th is a good day to recoup energies and get clear about where you are actually heading in 2012. Romance at least looks to run smoothly and has some nice moments.

Pisces
This is the start of a really positive phase. You are beginning to see clearly just what you need to do to get your life working for you the way you really want it to. December’s last days require you to be aware and patient whilst January’s first few days open up some opportunities to improve on how things are.

Astral Peeks: Some personal thoughts for New Year.

This time of year makes you think of all the important things in life! For me they seem to come down to peace, love, sharing and being there for another. Naturally this comes down to family and loved ones……but more importantly it begs us to be aware of the larger family we all share, made up of every sentient soul on earth.
In fact Peace is a state of harmony. Its history in our language is from the Latin pax, meaning "freedom from civil disorder," the English word originated in various personal greetings as a translation of the Hebrew shalom. Shalom, similar to the Arabic "salaam", has numerous meanings: safety, welfare, prosperity, security, fortune, friendliness. The personalized meaning is reflected in a nonviolent lifestyle, which also defines a relationship between any people characterized by respect, justice and goodwill. My favourite peace idea is this quote; ‘Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.” Robert Fulghum
Love, for most of us is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment, but in the philosophical context love is a virtue expressive of human kindness, compassion, and affection; and the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another. Saint Augustine has said that love is the beauty of the soul.
It would be wonderful if every human being found it in their hearts to embrace philosophical love and to express the virtues of peace in some small way at least in 2012……to stretch out a hand in kindness, to consider another’s welfare, to value another’s safety….to hold another with compassion, to accept another with unattached, unconditional love……I am making this my resolution for the New year….how about you??? Peace like all great journeys is but a step away…..let’s all take a first step of many…..and let’s walk with love.
