In general: Get
ready for burst of contentious, often surprising energy! October
begins with the Sun irritating Uranus and Pluto quite insistently. The Sun,
Uranus, and Pluto will be at a T-square which could bring mistakes, conflicts,
and unexpected issues to deal with in the first three days of this week. On
Friday evening, however, a new cycle begins. The New Moon in Libra cycle is a
good time to promise your energy to personal and humanitarian goals. It's a
time to work on balancing our relationships, and to recognize our partners as co-players
rather than opponents. With this powerful Libra energy, we have the chance to
make significant changes in our lives. Venus
semi-squares the Sun October 3-4, though, and reminds us that irritations
we think stem from others could be the reflection of our own inner disquiet. By
the time the Moon enters Scorpio on the 7th we become more directed,
passionate, and charming. We start again to feel in control of our lives because
of this, have essential conversations with others, and focus on what needs to
be done in order to solve a few problems. If you have birthday this week then
do be prepared to put a lot of energy into relationships over the next 12
months, the results can be surprising! On the world scene the early part of
this week can awaken righteous indignation in many and people may once again
take to the streets in protest not all of which will be peaceful! Locally focus
on problem solving around the 7th-9th.

of work and play in your life right now.

emotional relationships now too!

sure to get the balance of your life right!
Astral Peeks: Retrograde
planets.
A planet being in retrograde means that, to us here on
Earth, it appears to be moving backwards. The opposite of retrograde motion is
direct motion.
Of course, the planets are not really going backwards. It is
an optical illusion. Take Mercury retrograde for example. He travels around the
Sun faster than we do, and every 4 months, he passes us in his orbit. Here on
earth we witness Mercury appearing to go backwards for three weeks.
Think of it this way, if you pass a big car or truck passed
you, it looks to you like it’s going backwards. Retrograde motion is a lot like
that.
From astrology’s point of view when a planet in your chart
is retrograde, you experience the energy of the planet in a more personal,
internal way. Thus your experience and manifestation of the planet’s energy is
very unique to you. There is also a connection to the past, or a concern with the
past. Some karmic astrologers believe that retrograde planets indicate a link
to a past life.
Meditation moments:
Plants and the de-stressing factor!
Houseplants aren’t just
beautiful air purifiers -- they can actually help you calm
down. Researchers have found that simply being around plants can
induce your relaxation response. One Washington State University study found
that a group of stressed-out people who entered a room full of plants had a
four-point drop in their blood pressure, while a comparison group who didn’t
see plants dropped only two points, Prevention magazine reported. Some well-placed greenery can not only brighten a space but also purify
the air -- and they're also helpful in creating a more relaxing, restful
ambiance in any room. Dutch researchers found that hospital patients with
indoor plants in their rooms reported lower stress levels than patients without
them.
Following are some plants
that have specific healing/de-stressing properties:
Aloe Plant
The gel of the aloe plant
has a number of healing properties, from soothing skin burns and cuts to
detoxing the body, and it can also help to monitor the air quality in your
home.
English Ivy
NASA scientists listed the English Ivy as the number one best
air-filtering houseplant, as it is the most effective plant when it comes to
absorbing formaldehyde.
Peace Lily
The beautiful peace lily
plant is a wonderful low-maintenance flower to keep in the home. Peace lilies
do well in shade and cooler temperatures, and they can reduce the levels of a
number of toxins in the air.
Spider Plant
One of the most common
house plants, Spider Plants are decorative, easy to grow, and also make the NASA list of the best air-purifying plants.
Red-Edged Dracaena
This beautiful, vibrant
plant can grow to be ceiling-height (15-foot dracaenas are common), making it a
great plant for decorating and filling up space. It also removes toxins including xylene, trichloroethylene and
formaldehyde from the air. Grows best in sunlight.
