The year ahead 2015
Thought for the year:
Anywhere
is paradise; it's up to you. ~Author Unknown
In General: A lot like last year, 2015 starts with a bang
and slowly calms down to easier energies by April. Then more volatile,
commanding energy from October onwards could render personal breakthroughs that
ultimately have positive repercussions for individuals. On the world scene however it will be a
difficult time.
In January 2015 there is an explosion of energies in
the sign of goal setting Capricorn. Agreeably Mercury and Venus are in a really
sweet conjunction suggestive of better financial and communication trends. Venus
in fact, makes a big showing in 2015. She’s going to be doing a rare retrograde.
Beginning at the end of July through early September, Venus will retrograde in
the signs of Virgo and Leo. During this time many of us will be called to look
more closely at our relationships and what really fulfils us.
The
other big change at the start of the year is Saturn situated in Sagittarius.
This drives us all to learn our lessons, be open to new ways of doing things
and take education in all its guises, earnestly. 2015 can ultimately be a
journey of discovery and growth. The Saturn process for this is to make us get
real and not sugar coat the obvious anymore. If you’ve been living in denial
about something for a while you will find Saturn’s tense connection with
Neptune and Chiron in 2015 may make you have to cut through that.
Uranus and Pluto are locked in a tight right angle for
the first five months of the year, and also again for the last two months of
the year. This can be a harsh influence because the focus of Capricorn is
challenged by the very unsteady Uranus in Aries. The desire for change and
independence clashes with the need for control, traditional systems and
structures. There are also many changes affecting the structure of the world both
politically and geographically.
Aries
I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being
anything else. ~Winston Churchill
Uranus rests in your
sign throughout 2015, Aries, and ignites an impulsive, rash, sometimes erratic,
and variable energy. You can’t stand for anything to stay the same for very
long while Uranus is in your sign, which can cause a lot of unnecessary upheaval
if you’re not careful. Do your homework first, think things through initially,
and then create changes.
2015 is also quite interesting
for you when it comes to your work life. Pluto remains in your career sector
all year, and you will be inclined to transform the goals you have in life and determine
to go after some powerfully exciting dreams. Jupiter enters your work sector in
August, and this will be an excellent time for new work opportunities, which
more often than not will find you! These energies are amplified by the solar
eclipse in your work sector in September, making it a particularly lucky last
quarter to the year.
Parents and older
family members will also figure prominently throughout 2015. You may need to make
some decisions which they will challenge you on. Avoid arguing with a sibling
over this as it only serves to exacerbate matters.
You would benefit
most this year from listening to music, dancing, painting or drawing, spending
time by or in water, or getting regular massages. These activities will help
you keep a clear head and see the positives in your life.
Taurus
The happiest people don’t worry too much about whether
life is fair or not, they just get on with it. ~Andrew Matthews
Jupiter in your home
and family sector until mid-August, makes it generally easy for you to get
along with your immediate and extended family. You will also enjoy spending more
time at home, and more time making your home and surrounds more beautiful. This
is a year in which you are also more likely to buy, sell or make improvements
on a home.
This is likely to be
a big year for releasing and eliminating old baggage, with the solar eclipse in
April and lunar eclipse in September helping you along. At times this can make
you feel more emotional than usual. You can have problems being disciplined and
practical, you may be overly cautious and worried, or feel overwhelmed by all
that weighs on your shoulders. However
you will feel better for getting rid of the baggage in the end. Take up some
meditation to help keep you on a more even keel.
The blessing of
Jupiter in 2015 is bringing you success. You will not only accomplish your
tasks properly, but also will receive respect and appreciation at work. Pluto
could give you the passion and tenacity needed to make your dreams come true
this year.
Anything that opens your
mind to other people’s views, broadens your horizons, and brings a sense of joy
and adventure into your life is encouraged for 2015.
Gemini
Life's problems wouldn't be called "hurdles" if
there wasn't a way to get over them. ~Author Unknown
Saturn enters
Sagittarius and your relationship sector in 2015, and you get a lot more
serious about your relationships than you have been Gemini. A lunar eclipse
occurs in your love sector in April, which adds to the Saturn energy, and you
end harmful love relationships and become more committed to healthy ones. It’s also a great
time for reconnecting with family, forging stronger ties with your family, or
you could see a relative do something big and you want to support them.
Early in the year
through to mid-May, Mars is in the sector ruling your subconscious mind, and
you can focus on that, and release some old baggage.
Jupiter in
Sagittarius this year encourages travel, open-mindedness, adventure, advanced
education, hobbies, creative talents, pets and happiness. It will be
encouraging you to have fun while stretching beyond your comfort zone. You could bring more books and educational materials
into the home, begin an at-home academic program, learn about and explore other
cultures, religions, political views and expand your income in some way. This is also a good time for making business deals.
This year is about loving,
compassionate, peaceful, charitable, and magical events! Keep flexible and open
to the surprising.
Cancer
Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be
made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself.
~Harvey Fierstein
2015 begins with Mars
in your intimacy sector until mid-January, so you start the year trying to
become closer to your loved ones. Uranus in Aries resides in your career and life path
sector all year, and you will continue to change the ideas you have for what
you want in life, and to perhaps pursue some new ambitions. This will shape up
to be a great year for you career-wise!
There is plenty of
mental energy about this year encouraging you to pursue cerebral projects, and be
extra curious about the world. With the solar eclipse in in September, this
could be a great year to go back to studies and learn something new. Joining teams,
committees, and professional associations could certainly help boost your
professional image, your networking effectiveness and your ability to achieve
your goals in 2015.
You might find that
you enjoy spending time with your neighbors and extended family. You could find that you have more to do with neighbors,
and friends overall. Of course you could also feel overwhelmed and smothered by
too much family, too many neighbors, too many people in your local community that
are asking too much of you, etc. Learn to say no!
Leo
If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins. ~Benjamin Franklin
For Leo, 2015 is a
year of making immense changes in your personal life. The expressive expansive, fortunate energies of Jupiter
are with you right through until virtually the middle of August. This is the
year to make your dreams for the future a reality. 2015 will be a year of love,
laughter and happiness. You will be
exposed to new experiences that will enrich your life. There
is a strong likelihood of travel to another country for business. Because you are considering big life changes, you will want
to make sure you are physically and mentally ready for them. Hence this is a
year in which to watch what you are eating and to try and establish a good personal
health routine. You may also consider taking up yoga or meditation to help you
de-stress.
Financially things
can pick up in the second half of 2015. However your focus is not really on the
work arena, it’s on your personal life and the experiences you can have with
those you love. Your career will take a back-stage for most of the year as you
will have your mind set on other things. By the end of the year you will have
recovered some of your career focus and you will be wanting to reach personal
goals and hit your targets. You will assess your situation accurately and know
exactly what you need to do to improve your skill set in order to gain the
recognition and respect that you deserve.
Virgo
A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the
doctor's book. ~Irish Proverb
This is a good time
for emotional and spiritual healing, and for activities involving giving up
addictions and other self-destructive behaviours. The good news for you is that
from August 2015, the planet of luck, abundance and opportunities, Jupiter will
start to transit your sign, for a year. Jupiter will be trying to add great joy
and healing to your life. Until June 15th and then again after September 18th,
Saturn will be in your fourth house of real estate, housing matters, roommates,
parents, childhood issues, safety and security and retirement circumstances.
Pluto is influential
this year. Pluto often has hidden motivations, hidden assets, hidden agendas,
hidden resources, and deals with matters where individuals find out what they
are really made of. Pluto can reveal
gifts, assets, stamina, and psychological resources that you had no idea
existed within yourself!
Pluto will help you
to focus more on romantic commitments, relationships, following your bliss,
healing old emotional wounds through joyful activities, taking time out to
smell the roses, and maybe even turning a favorite hobby or pastime into a
profitable business.
Uranus will help you
become more aware of your personal power. You will better understand your
harmful emotions, your fears and other negative facets of your life, aspects
that you need to remove, because they disrupt your energies for moving forward.
Libra
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.
~Winston Churchill
2015 will seem like a
long-awaited vacation after the tempestuous 2014, which brought tough trials to
many Librans.
Pluto will be
transiting the family home for many years, from 2015 onwards. As a result some
external events may arise that will significantly change your life, such as a change
of residence or home renovations.
Neptune remains in
your work sector all year, and you’ll have issues focusing on routine work that
needs to be done. Mars will also be in this sector mid-January through
mid-February, and you can be motivated to work through this period at least.
A lunar eclipse
occurs in your sign in April and this is quite dynamic for you. With this
eclipse, you’re extra emotional, have a stronger insight into yourself but can have
a hard time dealing with this! You will see many endings and beginnings occur. In
fact this is a year for letting go, Libra. Jupiter moves into Virgo and the
sector ruling your subconscious mind in mid-August, staying there for the rest
of the year. This makes it easier for you to focus on your subliminal issues,
deal with the past, and let go of baggage that you’ve been carrying with you
for too long.
Saturn is easing its
hold on your finances and fortunes tend to increase. 2015 will be a good year
for knowledge and for connecting to others. Be more open to the innovative and
unexpected, communicate and share!
Scorpio
In optimism there is magic. In pessimism there is
nothing. ~Abraham–Hicks
As you begin 2015 Pluto
in Capricorn is in the sector ruling your siblings and neighbors, and you can feel
like you’ve been involved in a war over supremacy and control with them for a long
while. You need to make an effort to resist the urge to dominate any issues
with them!
Mars is in your
intimacy sector mid-May through late June, and Mercury will retrograde in this
sector at the same time. These dynamics can make you quite frustrated, anxious
for intimacy and a strong bond with someone, but unable to find exactly what
you are looking for. You’re apt to be grumpy from all the pent up passion, and
can have a tendency to lash out at people. It’s wise at this time to find a way
to relax and let go.
With Saturn entering
Sagittarius and your money sector this year, and you become more concerned
about managing your money correctly. This is an excellent year for making progress with your
career. You are able to set goals for yourself and you’ll be presented with
opportunities to pursue and attain them. You don’t seem to have to put in as
much effort as usual, nevertheless you still need to put in some effort or
you’ll waste this exciting energy! You are likely to be presented with the opportunity to
make a dream of yours come true, and it’s an exhilarating outlook.
Sagittarius
Saying thank you is more than good manners. It is good
spirituality. ~Alfred Painter
In 2015 your attitude
toward money will be evolving, and while it may become more important to you in
some ways, it will also become less important in others.
Jupiter enters Virgo
and your career and life path sector in mid-August, and Mars will be in this
sector late September through mid-November, and a solar eclipse occurs in this
sector in September. Consequently it’s a fantastic time for accomplishing a
goal, coming into contact with success and realizing what you hope to achieve
professionally. This is the best time in a long time for it, so don’t miss it
through procrastination.
Saturn's arrival in
Sagittarius will undoubtedly be the most important event of the year however,
for you guys. With Saturn by your side, you can build solid things, reach a
sophisticated degree of maturity and wisdom, appreciate your real needs,
organize and anchor your life for the better.
Overall it’s a year
for success, recognition, promotion and personal development.
Capricorn
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among
the stars. ~Les Brown
Mars is very busy in
Capricorn for most of 2015! It starts the year in your money sector and works
its way to your career and life path sector by the years close. You’re consequently
driven to improve your financial situation, work hard, and achieve your goals
this year.
You might consider
embarking on a new project in March, but it’s one that you’re acquainted with,
comfortable with, and that doesn’t push you outside of your comfort zone. It
could be similar to something you’ve done in the past, so you’re confident in
your aptitude to do it well.
Jupiter enters Virgo
mid-August, and this helps improve your mood significantly. You’re much more
optimistic about everything, and don’t feel so bogged down by life. This is
especially true with Mars also in Virgo late September through mid-November,
and the solar eclipse in Virgo in September.
2015 will favor you by
opening up broader horizons, both physically and culturally or spiritually.
Aquarius
We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start
a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates
action. ~Frank Tibolt
Saturn will leave
Aquarius' house of career signaling the end of a long phase laden with
responsibilities. For the following three years, Saturn will turn its interest
towards groups, friendship, partnership, and organizational interests. You’ll
have more freedom of choice. You can set up new businesses and new partnerships
that will bring you more gratification and more money. There are advantages coming
through third parties, good contacts and gifts. February and March 2015 especially, will be very active
months, full of initiative for Aquarius people.
Be prepared for those
individuals who are not contributing to your life, not supporting or
encouraging you, to make way for those who do. You are more likely to have
trouble or stress in this area of your life if you attempt to maintain
unhealthy or destructive relationships with those who are toxic for you. You
need to reinforce the development of constructive and healthy relationships,
socializing and building up a network of optimistic individuals, both in your
personal and professional life.
2015 will also be an
excellent year for information, learning, intellectual creativity,
communication. You’ll
have a lot to achieve from collaborations, teamwork or group initiatives.
It is also a year
that favours love and marriage, particularly in the first part of the year!
Pisces
Don't be discouraged. It's often the last key in the
bunch that opens the lock. ~Author Unknown
2015 will be
productive, due to the trine that will form between Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus.
The Pisces career sector will experience success and a consistent financial growth. There are indications
that you can make money through Uranian means, such as innovative working
methods, progressive ideas, products or technology that challenges the existing
thinking or status quo.
Health issues will be
dealt with effectively. This would be a good year in which to adopt a healthier
diet and lifestyle, but also to focus upon physical activities and exercise
routines that are fun, enjoyable, and sociable and give you a chance to show
off a bit.
The Saturn-Uranus
trine will bring you energy and imagination. It will be excellent for venturing
into new areas and defining new goals. The key is to think practically and
reasonably and to pay attention to the difference between the dependable people
around you and those just trying to charm you with nice but impractical
promises. People
that enter your life during this period should have a major impact upon you,
acting as representatives of change and transformation.

Here is a little taste of Breathe Inspiration….
Flip
your resolutions for a nurturing New Year
Words by Mary Mann and Louisa Hamlin, Breathe Inspiration Journal
As we move closer to the end of the year we tend to
reflect on the previous twelve months. We analyse our achievements, the
challenges we have faced, new relationships and those that have ended, whether
or not we stuck to last year’s resolutions, and the new ones we plan to set for
the coming year.
When reflecting on these points and “marking” our
growth, it is important not to be too hard on ourselves. Sure, we may not have
lost that ten kilos we unrealistically set out to, or finished writing our
novel, or created that veggie garden we’ve been talking about all year, or
found the love of our life. But I can assure you, there are unplanned
achievements and learnt lessons that have occurred in the past year for which
you should be proud of. Pause for a minute and take stock of all these
unexpected “wins.” Write them down and review each item carefully and with
gratitude. You may not have planned them, but it is important to recognize how
they have influenced your personal growth. This is such a worthwhile exercise as
it encourages us to see how far we have come and shifts the focus away from
self-berating and the inclination to put a big, red “X” next to the resolutions
we let slip through our fingers.
Plans, events and relationships don’t always work out
the way we want them to, and yes, this can be extremely difficult to come to
terms with. But some of the best, most awe-inspiring moments in life are the
ones that are the result of something else not working out or coming to a
natural end. It is in these moments of chaos that we learn the deepest lessons.
It is a time to release ourselves to the spontaneity and adventure of life,
instead of resisting it. It is a time to explore who we are and who we want to
be, and allow ourselves to grow. Every ending or supposed “failure” is an
opportunity for a brilliant new beginning.
Setting resolutions or goals for the New Year can be a
positive and healthy way to boost your wellbeing and help put you on track to
making the most of your life. But many traditional New Year’s resolutions are
unrealistic, embedded with negative self-talk and leave us feeling worse when
we don’t achieve the numbers or benchmark that we set out to. So rather than
using this time to focus on what is not working in our lives, we can use the
symbolism of the New Year to focus on what we are doing right, and to explore
how we can expand on that.
Mary Mann and Louisa Hamlin are the founders of Breathe
Inspiration Journal. Breathe shares stories about everyday people doing
extraordinary things, along with articles and tips to foster wellbeing and help
you make the most of your life.
