In General: During April, it is important that as individuals we are aware of our actions. Choosing our battles wisely is very necessary now.

The new moon, on April 7th, is in Aries. This Moon will ask us to move beyond our established comfort zones. This new moon is also conjunct Uranus and square Pluto. It’s an energy capable of renewing, transforming effects. Expect some unexpected or disconcerting developments at this time and be prepared for quite an intense surge of energy. It is from this point that we’re really moving forward in the year at last, and we are doing so with great vitality!

Mars Retrogrades on April 17 and something based in the past that you may have been thinking about recently, will find its new place in your journey! You can revive old projects or complete unfinished business.

Mercury Retrogrades in Taurus on the 28^th April with all its attendant issues regarding travel and communication. Since Taurus has an affinity with nature and gardening, a good way to balance the Mercury retrograde instability is to work outside in the garden or just spend time outdoors in general.

If you are enjoying a birthday this month then be prepared for a year of consolidation and organisation. On the world scene it’s a month of financial highs and lows and unpredictability. The Uranus-Pluto square, with its implied angst and surprises has the potential for more Global violence and confusion. Locally take on a peaceful attitude and spend some time contemplating nature.

Aries

This month love, marriage, and relationships will bring you guys some needed joy and satisfaction. Work and career can be contentious as you feel like your efforts aren’t focused or that you’re not progressing fast enough. However, with patience and discipline you will eventually find what you are looking for.

Taurus

Financial matters are highlighted this month. You could be tempted to make important decisions but you are cautioned to weigh your prospects with great care. You feel inclined to enjoy life and have a good time but do be careful as your physical endurance is not as good as you’d like it to be this month.

Gemini

Relationships come under examination this month and it can be difficult. Saturn brings inflexibility, blockages or obstacles. Mars brings tensions, challenges, stress, and perhaps conflict. Help yourself by remaining calm and being your most diplomatic self! Solitary pursuits are ideal, as are all home-based activities.

Cancer

A positive financial surprise could appear this month. Health needs attention this month and it’s wise to listen to your body and act straight away of there are any issues. Much can be achieved now but taking on more than you can handle will only delay accomplishments and complicate things.

Leo

This month’s astrological patterns encourage intellectual pursuits, higher education or research, cultural activities and philosophy. Activities related to traveling, commerce, or long-distance business are also favoured. Money is also a major focus. You can gain a lot through your work, but speculation is not recommended.

Virgo

You could find April difficult due to stress, pressure, fatigue and organizational difficulties. You guys tend to worry about all kinds of things, often more or less unfounded. You need to relax, breathe deeply and let go. Set your priorities logically, focus only on what is indispensable, and don’t lose yourself in the details!

Libra

It’s a big month for Libra and hot on the agenda is your public speaking or writing talents, your ingenuity, pioneering spirit, flexibility and agility, both mental and physical! Money will flow in abundantly, but the energy is demanding. Try to take things a tad lightly, and see the enjoyable parts.

Scorpio

Work is dynamic, but it’s imperative to know how to manage the money you earn this month. You probably feel the urge to make financial decisions, and resolve particular issues. Weigh your actions judiciously and be prudent when spending. It’s best not to make financial decisions after April 17!

Sagittarius

Your plans ought to work out well this month and your goals will be more easily attained. Career advancement is favoured and you possess increased confidence and ease. You feel an urge to break free from routine and do something totally different from your normal routine. Stay active and be proactive rather than wait for change to happen to you.

Capricorn

April is the best time to negotiate a better deal in any area of life, in business or at work, and in your personal relationships. You will make a good impression on others so now is the perfect time to ask for a favour or apply for a new job or promotion. Schedule meetings and appointment now while you have clear thought and sound judgement.

.Aquarius

April sees an increase in you desire for social contact and enjoyment. Existing love relationships should flourish and this is the ideal time to address any persistent tensions within any relationships. There ought to be more of a focus on your home and family life as well.

Pisces

This month sees a buildup of personal energy and a strong desire to assert yourself sometimes aggressively. This can result in frustration and conflict. Creative energy is also heightened, so try to utilize this to calm yourself and find some grounding. Write your feelings down instead of airing them impulsively!

Astral Peeks: Astral happenings April 2016

April 7 - New Moon. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere.

April 18 - Mercury at Greatest Eastern Elongation. The planet Mercury reaches greatest eastern elongation of 19.9 degrees from the Sun. This is the best time to view Mercury since it will be at its highest point above the horizon in the evening sky. Look for the planet low in the western sky just after sunset.

April 22 - Full Moon.

April 22, 23 - Lyrids Meteor Shower. The Lyrids is an average shower, usually producing about 20 meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by dust particles left behind by comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher, which was discovered in 1861. The shower runs annually from April 16-25. It peaks this year on the night of the night of the 22nd and morning of the 23rd. These meteors can sometimes produce bright dust trails that last for several seconds. Unfortunately this year the glare from the full moon will block out all but the brightest meteors. If you are patient, you should still be able to catch a few good ones. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Lyra, but can appear anywhere in the sky.
