Next month we are ( here in Australia) moving into Spring and it is meet to enter into this season with awareness and focus....

Equinoxes occur when the sun passes across the equator, making night and day equal across the globe.

Spring equinox has traditionally been known as Eostre, for the Teutonic Goddess Oestre, (whose name connects with the roots of our modern word oestrogen-the hormone stimulating ovulation.) This has given rise to the christian Easter, also a celebration of birth and new life. Hence the symbolic eggs. They show the emergence of life from darkness, of ideas from inner levels. (you can see the connection in the northern hemisphere celebration of Easer, but the old seasonal importance of this celebration is lost on the southern Hemisphere).

Spring is blossoming flowers; fruit on the trees, the birth of young animals. Our lives mirror this when we give full attention to growing things… To moving forward with projects. To using the knowledge gained during the quieter times of winter and putting into practice the real Magik that is LIFE!

While Imbolg was a time to focus on cleansing and getting rid of the old and being inspired toward the new, Spring equinox is a time to focus upon giving energy to the new, to moving forward towards hopes become manifest.
Below are some ideas to put you in the correct frame of mind for Spring.

1. Make a sachet of abundance. Place appropriate herbs and dried flowers in a white cloth bag tied with green ribbon. You may like to use geranium, allspice, honeysuckle, patchouli or ginger. Carry it near you in your bag or your car.

2. Light a yellow and a green and a red candle. Place in a triangle with a bowl of water in the centre.
Have a bunch of flowers handy. Focus your energy in the heart chakra centre. Pick up a flower and conjure a feeling of joy. Imbue the flower with this energy. Place it in the water. Pick up another flower and conjure another positive feeling- Love, security, happiness, sharing etc. Imbue each flower this way and one at a time place them in the water. Blow out the candles and place the bowl of flowers somewhere central in the home- when you gaze upon it recall those positive feelings!

Most of all allow yourself to be HAPPY!
