astral meanderings 17-23 September 2008

In General: The Moon is in Taurus early this week. Just as well, because we need a modicum of stability amidst the chaos! This is a time when we can accomplish but it will be despite the stars not necessarily because of them! In other words, we need to work hard to focus on our goals, but if we do then we will reap the rewards. The 21st sees the Sun and Pluto in a square formation, which generally asks us to let go of the outworn and unnecessary whilst also alerting us to the hidden agendas of others. On the 23rd, the Sun moves into Libra and at the same time we celebrate the Spring Equinox. Unfortunately at the same time we have to contend with Mercury conjunct feisty Mars. Again it is an effort of will to avoid engaging in needless conflict when there is the opportunity for productivity and expansion. Those with birthdays this week will need to stay on task in the year ahead to reap due reward. On The world scene fiscal issues are in focus and these may be quite unpredictable. Locally celebrate the Equinox by spending time with family.

The International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA2009) celebrates the first astronomical use of the telescope by Galileo – an event that initiated 400 years of astronomical discoveries and triggered a scientific revolution has which profoundly affected our worldview. Now telescopes on the ground and in space explore the Universe, 24 hours a day, across all wavelengths of light. The President of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) Catherine Cesarsky says: "The International Year of Astronomy 2009 gives all nations a chance to participate in this ongoing exciting scientific and technological revolution." The IYA2009 activities will take place at the global and regional levels, and especially at the national and local levels. National Nodes in each country have been formed to prepare activities for 2009. These Nodes establish collaborations between professional and amateur astronomers, science centres, educators and science communicators in preparing activities for 2009. There are opportunities for advancement this week too and many of you will be completing a task or project that ahs been around for some time.

With the moon in your sign later this week you feel more grounded and in control than you have in some time. Work seems busier than usual but it’s still enjoyable. Try not to get sidetracked however, as Mercury retrograde next week can be difficult for you guys in particular. Complete all paper work now!!

It can be a little chaotic for you guys this week. There seems so much to juggle! However, you still manage to keep a reasonable social life in tact! You are likely to be entering the final stages of a cycle that began 13-14 years ago. In other words there is a lot of change and excitement in the air!

Cancer
June 22- July 22
The home, family and other responsibilities seem to be taking up all of your time. It can be a little suffocating! Try to get out and walk in the fresh air, you will be the better for it! You may also need to spend some time reevaluating just where it is you are heading. Later this year some change is in store and its good to be prepared.

Leo
July 23- August 23
It’s a social week with much gadding about and catching up with friends and family. With Venus and Mercury working for you in the romance and communication sectors you should find much to be happy about. Creatively it is time to make the most of your ability. There could be financial gain if you think about it.

Virgo
August 22- September 22
It is time to reassess who and what you really are. Spending time in quiet reflection will work well for you now. Rushing around and trying to force things to happen, won’t! News about or from a partner can come unexpectedly and involve some long term changes. Your reserves of energy need a boost.

Libra
September 23-October 22
Those around you may seem to be in chaos, unpredictable behaviour abounds. It is a good time to exercise your patience skills and go with the flow. Getting all hot under the collar is not going to be helpful. This is possibly the most difficult week of the month. You can look forward to much better next week.

Scorpio

There are possible new offers or changes at work that will very nicely give you more control and authority. Romantically things seem somewhat extreme. It’s either very good or the opposite! Either way it can be quite distracting for you! Believe it or not you will cope and the results might just pleasantly surprise you.

There could be issues with a distant family member or close friend this week. Communications can be difficult and go awry so do double check things if possible. The early part of the week may be hard and confusing but it smoothes out by the weekend. Career looks good and there is something positive to gloat about.

Capricorn

It’s a quiet week for you guys. Use it to rest, because things will speed up soon. Career is looking good and there is a lot to smile about overall. Someone from the past who has influence will reappear with an offer. If this doesn’t occur now then the ground work will occur and results will be had after the new moon.

Aquarius

Finances can rattle you a little this week. Something to do with home or family will definitely make you feel a little tense. Things do get better so just look after your health and get some down time now until this passes. The 17th and 19th are great for romance so use them to your benefit. Plan a little outing!

Pisces
February 19- March 20
It can be a taxing week so watch your health and get the rest you need. Your energy levels are looking low so its important for you to eat well. Relationships that have suffered of late can be revitalized however and you can fix some poor communication issues now too. Be clear about what you desire.
