astral meanderings 22-28 October 2008

In General: The Sun Moves into intense Scorpio on the 23rd, bringing with it a sense of focus and determination. Chiron turns direct In Aquarius on the 25th, adding humanitarianism and idealism to the mix. Questions like ‘Why am I here?’ and “what is my purpose?’ will stir many of us. It is a week to think clearly about issues and be careful of what we say and do, acknowledging the long term consequences of both. With the new moon looming on the 29th we should be getting ready for a new phase, tending the garden so to speak! If your birthday falls this week then the year ahead will generate unsual intensity to your focus and goals will accomplished. On the world scene there will be an obvious separation of the successful and unsuccessful. People will know just who stands where. Issues of compassion and social welfare will be highlighted. Locally it’s a great week for getting the job done.

Don’t keep watching without giving your eyes a rest. Take a short break every 20 mins.
When you're observing objects through a telescope at the limit of vision, or looking for small details in brighter objects, use a technique sometimes called "rocking the scope." Gently tap the mount or the telescope tube. It really helps faint details stand out!
Make sure you are comfortable. You’ll be able to observe for so much longer.
When observing into the early morning hours, be sure to point your telescope where the Sun won't shine, the Sun has been known to damage even telescopes that were capped.
Learn the constellations. It’s a way of connecting the dots and making more of the night sky. You can go to www.astronomy.com for help with this.

You are moving into a better financial zone and by the end of the week should be aware of some gains. The 22nd and 25th are great romantically. One of your better weeks. If you are sure of your goals then they will be achievable, but if you are all over the place don’t expect results!
