The Saturn-Uranus opposition which has been manifesting for some time is truly in force this month. It is a perplexing configuration which is capable of the unpredictable on many levels. Economic difficulties, political uncertainty and for most of us a general sense of insecurity can be the result of its energy. On top of this is the Saturn-Pluto square which has also been building for some time and will continue to shed its influence until April 2010. This can make us feel as if we are carrying the weight of the world! On the 15th of the month we will experience the first solar eclipse of the year with both the Sun and New moon in Capricorn. It will be quite a visible eclipse in Central and Eastern Africa, Eastern Europe and parts of Asia, with the very real possibility of some unsettling effects upon the areas concerned.
On a more immediate front, it looks to be an emotional month but also a month for shake ups at work and some opportunity for new beginnings. The full Moon in Leo on the 30th of January can pave the way for a brighter and more creative February, but it’s important to avoid angry words or dramatic displays of emotion at this time.
