In general: The tension between Uranus and Pluto is
growing. This can be seen externally in the leadership challenges across the
globe and in situations where two strong powers come to blows. There is an overall
build-up of energy towards the eclipse of the 25th and there is
likely to be an increase in subversive and terrorist type activity at this
time. For all of us words and actions
and how we use both will have deep significance now. They could also have
unforeseen and long-term consequences. Do be conscious of this. The
New Moon on April 10 in Aries represents a time for new beginnings. It is
aligned with Mars and Venus. The focus here is on learning to balance our
active and receptive sides and finding a means of fulfilling our own needs
whilst still being in an intimate relationship. On April 12, Pluto in
Capricorn turns retrograde; starting a five-month cycle that is best used for
observing one’s hidden fears and how we use our personal power. Used wisely we
can gain strong insights and a new depth of consciousness about our life
purpose. On the world scene it is a time for the surprising and the
unprecedented. Terrorist activity is on the increase and dictatorial behaviour
intensifies. Locally be conscious of
what you do and say.
Thought for the week: Victory attained by violence is tantamount to a defeat, for
it is momentary. ~Gandhi
Aries
The New Moon on April 10 sees you focused on your
goals and ready to run toward them. Make the most of this week and indeed till
late next week because it is golden. The New Moon adds creativity and a little
razzle-dazzle to your life and emphasizes your personal charisma.
Taurus
The Taurus penchant for security and comfort is
undergoing some perspective change as you feel the need to learn more, explore
more and transform your life. From the 15th things seem to be more
rewarding and positive for you. Social interactions are more numerous, bright,
and fun during this phase.
Gemini
This is a highly effective time that gives support
to creative teamwork and goal setting. Your talents will be noticed and can
shine with ease. You are
attracted to that which is reformist or alternative during this phase. There may be more contact with the public at this
time, or you might experience an increased need to be heard and approved.
Cancer
You are motivated to take a wider look at things
now, rather than just concentrating on details. You are cooperating with others
and are more persuasive and optimistic at this time. This is an expressly good time for you
if you work in communications, advertising, or writing.
Leo
April 10’s New Moon highlights creative projects and
bold ‘big picture’ plans. Your desire for travel and learning is also in focus. You might feel a little agitated if you don't find ways to explore. You are more animated than you have been, and your
confidence in yourself is natural and relaxed.
Virgo
You are fascinated by the deeper features of
relationships and social interactions at this time, rather than what you see on
the surface. Mysteries enthral you and you might find yourself looking for
others' motivations for doing and saying what they do. You may seem more powerful when you
speak, and command authority.
Libra
The New Moon on the 10th is a commanding one,
putting close devoted relationships into sharp focus. Your personal appeal is
strong and others are more than willing to spend quality time with you. You are also more relaxed talking things
over in one-on-one settings, and can get your point across easier.
Scorpio
You can express yourself with friendliness and
creativity and you have an approving "audience" for your ideas at
present. You have more conversations with
co-workers, get or receive work advice, or focus on a larger work project. You
could be very busy at work, and come up with original ideas.
Sagittarius
April’s New Moon plants the seeds of a new
expressive and creative cycle. Creative
self-expression of any kind is favoured. There is copious activity in your area
of romance, recreation, self-expression, pastimes and children. You are personally charming in an unprompted,
natural way, now.
Capricorn
This week you are challenged to change some of your
old ways and be flexible enough to ask others how to do things! Your mind is particularly inquisitive; learning,
short trips, and other forms of communication appeal powerfully. This is not, however, the best time for concentrating
on a task or project.
Aquarius
Love and
communication are tied together in wonderful ways this week! Your
words are especially comforting, and you tend to use words to smooth over complications
that you see around you. You
could have more communications than usual with others. Everyone is trying to
get in touch with you.
Pisces
Financial
activity, including pressures or worries, can be the focus now. However, Mercury
enters Aries on April 13th, and you can come up with a new financial plan that
you need to stick to. You
may use your mind to increase your income, or start using technology more in
your work.
Astral Peeks: Planets for April
Jupiter
is easy to locate as soon as evening twilight ends above the North West horizon
all month. On 1 April, Saturn rises around 7.13 pm and rises around 5.13
pm at the end of April. At the start of April, Mercury is easily visible
above the Eastern horizon before the start of morning twilight. By the end of
the month, Mercury’s orbital motion has carried it back towards the morning
glare of the Sun. Neptune is located in the morning sky above the
Eastern horizon. Uranus starts April lost in the glare of morning
twilight but by the end of the month is high enough to point a telescope at.
Keep in mind however that both Uranus and Neptune only appear as tiny discs
under high magnification in a telescope. Venus remains close to the Sun
and is not visible all month.
Meditation moments: Stillness
In stillness we discover who we are. Stillness is
infinite, with no beginning, no end or containment. A Psalms verse, "Be
Still and Know That I Am" tells us that stillness is the abode of God or
Consciousness. A Buddhist teaching says the same, "I Am That." In
stillness there is no stress, no capacity to hold unto anything unreal. That
which is impermanent evaporates. It rises and falls away, back into stillness. Out
of this absence of sound, called emptiness in Buddhism, arises the sense of
spiritual essence. In times of inner stillness, we feel incredible peace and
contentment. Through meditation we recognize that stillness is fundamental to
our being. Stillness
then illuminates. It shows us how our entire being appears and disappears into
stillness. We are then able to be less reactive to the thoughts, feelings and
sensations that manifest and evaporate. We recognize them as transient.
Stillness is eternal. To really, really know oneself,
become intimate with stillness.
I
am holding a workshop in meditation as stress relief on the 14th
April from 10am-12pm at the Well Being Centre in Yamba. If interested please
