May 2015
Thought for the
month: We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily
into the trap of being our own worst enemies. ~Roderick Thorp, Rainbow Drive
In General: The predominant energy of May will be the Saturn-Neptune
square. Saturn is grounded and brings about the summation of effort, Neptune is
muddled and although very intuitive can be easily mislead, finding it hard to
ground itself. Consequently, the Saturn-Neptune square can give birth to on the
ground confusion, utopian ideas that are essentially impractical, and choices
that are lacking in clear direction. Adding to this, Mercury will be retrograde
between the 19th of May and the 12th of June. Mercury will add mis-information,
poor communication and changes to plans to the overall picture. You could
become quite worried by all of this, but to put it in perspective it’s just a
caution to be careful with major decisions and sure of all the details, to be
flexible with plans in general and to be as clear as possible in all your
communications! May 19th sees Mars in direct motion again and this
is actually very positive! A confident,
brighter energy is about and with Jupiter and Saturn in a nice trine on 24th
investors should feel a little more self-assured and consumer spending should
cautiously increase. Do keep it simple around the Full Moon on May 3rd as both
the Sun and the Moon square Jupiter and it’s all too easy to bite off more than
you can chew.
If you have a birthday this month then it indicates a year
where plans can unexpectedly change! Keep your wits about you, go with the flow
and all should be fine!! It can be an exciting year if you let it!
On the world scene some financial positivity is likely but
it would be unwise to get too carried away with this. Unexpected earth
movements are still on the cards. Locally it is important to be flexible in
your plans and precise in your work.
Aries
Love is in the air
throughout May. Affection and romantic relationships will be at the fore front
so just appreciate. Travel either for business or for pleasure is also likely.
If you do take a business trip it is probable that it will be profitable in
some way. May brings with it another round of Mercury retrograde. You might
want to put off dealing with contracts or writing work until after the
retrograde is over, unless you’re reviewing, revising, or editing.
Taurus
The Sun joins Mars in
Gemini on May 21st, leaving your sign, so you have a calm energy again. You
focus more on stabilizing your finances, your outlook is practical, and you
take your time with everything. You certainly come across as more stable,
dependable and grounded. A full moon occurs on May 3rd in Scorpio, the sign
opposite yours, and you really ought to give more energy and consideration to
your relationships at this time.
Gemini
This is a good time
financially and you have the money you need when you need it. However, you can
also splurge a little too much, so watch spending. With your ruler, Mercury, retrograde in your sign
starting this month, it’s not the best time for long-term decisions. Don’t presume too
much from yourself during this time! Make sure you give yourself time away from
everything, and have healthy outlets for your stress.
Cancer
Your confidence can
be a little greater, and you’re calmer emotionally, not as influenced by life
events, and feeling grounded, and secure. This is a
good time to face past issues that you want to be rid of, or to deal with
subconscious issues that you’ve tried to deal with before. You can find that
you have the best opportunities behind the scenes or in the background this
month, staying out of the spotlight.
Leo
You will have a lot
of opportunities coming your way this month, Leo. Be sure you don't ignore them
as they will benefit you in the long term. Good business deals and network opportunities are
available to you guys now. In your processes however it is important that you
pay more than usual attention to detail. It’s sensible for you to be careful with
what and how much you say as the message could easily get distorted.
Virgo
This is a good month for
working on an old goal, revising the plans you have moving forward, or changing
the path that you’re on generally. Try not to push yourself too hard or you might
burn out though!!You’re so focused on your goals and peripheral issues this month
that love gets put on the back burner. Studying, exams, and relationships with people from
abroad figure quite prominently.
Libra
Finances are powerful
for Libra all through May. The inclination is to concentrate on professional and
career targets. Family affairs tend to get a back seat. Your inclination during
this phase is to think about the "big picture" rather than the
ordinary circumstances and particulars of your life. You can do more with less now, and you tend to meet
people who will help you get to where you want to be.
Scorpio
This month you’re
determined and motivated. You have a strong will generally and now in
particular, whatever you set your mind to, you will achieve, no matter what may
get in your way. A new business partnership may be on the cards for many of
you. A full moon occurs in your sign, on May 3rd. The good
decisions, hard work, and responsible actions you’ve taken will get rewarded at
this time.
Sagittarius
On May 11th, Mars
enters Gemini, the sign opposite yours, and this will generate more energy and
drive for you, especially in your relations with others. You do far more with a
partner than you can ever do alone at this time. The new moon on the 18th occurs in your work sector,
making it a good time to work on projects, come up with ideas, deal with minutiae,
or look for alternative work.
Capricorn
May brings with it yet
another Mercury retrograde. You may need to do some things over again, reread,
review, revise, so you may not get new projects off of the ground right now!
Use this period to complete projects instead. It’s also a great opportunity to
get clear about your goals and where you are heading. Be kind to yourself
though and pay attention to health and relaxation.
Aquarius
This month try not
make sudden judgments based on what your loved ones say because you may not be
hearing them correctly. Venus enters your work sector, which is good for your
work life in general, but which can also make you tad lazy! Double check travel
plans and be prepared to make changes. Look after any niggling health issues
straight away and avoid bigger problems.
Pisces
Pisceans will take
greater pleasure in doing the things that they enjoy most, this month. Spending
more time on your hobbies, or taking up new ones is likely. You can be more
creative, and express yourself imaginatively. Distractions keep you from
focusing on your career this month. The Scorpio full moon will bring an
intensely emotional energy for you, especially with regards to intimate
relationships.
Astral Peeks:
May
1st Samhain Southern hemisphere
To follow the older traditional ways and work with
nature we must recognize the seasons and our celebrations and practices must
mirror this if they are to be alive and not merely dogmatic procedure.
Samhain is the beginning of the Celtic New Year. At
this time all the harvest is gathered in, for come winter, the faeries will
blast every growing plant with their breath, damaging any nuts and berries
remaining on the hedgerows. In the old days peat and wood for winter fires were
stacked high by the hearth. It was a joyous time of family reunion, when all
members of the household worked together baking, salting meat, and making
preserves for the winter feasts to come. The old year had passed, and the
leaves fallen from the trees.
Today in our lives this is a good time to look at
wrapping up the old and preparing for the new, to face old fears and surmount
them, to understand our shadow and begin to live in harmony with ourselves.
Think about the things you did in the last twelve months. Have you left
anything unresolved? If so, now is the time to get those things in order. Once
you’ve gotten all that incomplete matter resolved, then you can begin looking
towards the next year. You can spend this ‘darker ‘time of the year meditating
on your inner wisdoms and tilling the soil for new seeds to sow just before
spring. Samhain is a good time to do a psychological housecleaning. On a slip
of paper, write whatever you want to leave behind when the old year dies —
fear, self-limiting attitudes, bad habits, and so on. Then burn the paper in a
ritual fire. For many Pagan and Wiccan traditions, Samhain is a time to
reconnect with our ancestors, and honor those who have died. This is the time
when the veil between our world and the spirit realm is thin.
Samhain literally means “summer's end.” In Scotland
and Ireland, Halloween is known as Oíche Shamhna, while in Wales it is Nos
Calan Gaeaf. With the rise of Christianity, Samhain was changed to Hallowmas,
or All Saints' Day, to commemorate the souls of the blessed dead who had been
canonized that year, so the night before became popularly known as Halloween.
Meditation moments: Touring
with ME in 2015!!
If touring with a
wonderful group of people, experiencing very memorable moments, both
spiritually insightful and often just plain fun, whilst seeing some of the more
special places in the historical landscape and meeting some extraordinary folk,
is your thing…then you would be mad not to book a place on a Dragon’s eye tour
of the UK and Ireland. I was happily invited to guest guide on the 2014 tour
this past September and I am now totally excited to be guest guiding the 2015
Tour. It’s a magical voyage in so many ways and leaves you not only lauding the
remarkable journey you’ve had but wanting more!
Departing London on
31 August and starting in Dublin on 13 September 2015, both tours are
especially designed for those who have a love of history, a fascination for the
mystical, and a desire to visit some of the most beautiful and sacred places in
these most ancient lands. Combining
well-researched historical and archaeological information with the assistance
of expert guides, we shall explore myth and legend, visit holy wells, stone
circles, pagan temples, ancient castles and settlements, pretty villages and
passage tombs. In the West Country, we
shall walk Britain's oldest road and in Ireland drive the stunningly beautiful
North Antrim Coast.
As we travel I will
provide everyone with a tarot reading, hold workshops and meditations and
facilitate rituals in amazing places.
