In General: This month requires our resilience and our patience. Hard work will lead to the very real manifesting of dreams. Jupiter enters Virgo on August 12 and will linger in that sign for 13 months. This actually is a wonderful time to connect with the deep wisdom and innocence of our pets. Our healing abilities also expand, as does the wish to be of selfless service to others. Whilst Saturn turns direct on August 2nd its shadow period will remain until November 8th. It is certainly a time to become predominantly aware of the forces of personal control and how all decisions are affecting our collective future. Neptune remains retrograde this whole month until November 18. It asks us to dissociate from the general run of thought and to think for ourselves. Pluto remains retrograde this whole month and it asks that we discover our deeper selves and not be afraid of who we are. If you have a birthday this month, then your year ahead will be a year of personal growth and opportunity. Hard work will be rewarded. On the world scene it’s a time where issues around food production may be topical. Finance will also be highlighted. The Venus/Saturn square does not bode well for peaceful international relations. Locally pay attention to the needs of others.  

Aries

Focus and tenacity are guaranteed by the favorable aspect that Mercury forms with Pluto, in your house of career. You guys are bursting with energy and need to work out, dance, or walk around. At least do exciting things that you're interested in or passionate about now. Relationships are complicated and frustrating!

Taurus

Take good care of yourself and avoid carelessness this month. It is wise to conserve your energy by sticking to routine as much as possible.   Overall however, things are looking up as you enter a very auspicious period! The August 29 full moon will place more of an emphasis on close relationships in a lovely way.

Gemini

You have a frantic month ahead with some testing moments, but the overall feel is a good one. A decent month for socializing and making friends, but also good for any kinds of creative work. The poorest days of the month for any cerebral work or communications are August 11 to 13. Mercury opposite Neptune on these days will scatter your thinking.

Cancer

Clear thinking and sound judgement mean you can confidently make plans and agree on business dealings now. You can count on good judgement and excellent communication skills during this second half of the month especially. The August 29 full moon will further strengthen the good feelings and focus them on your home life.

Leo

This month will be spent with family and friends. Career, finance and professional decisions will be put on the back-burner. Money will flow effortlessly into your life though and you will do well in this area generally. Pregnancy and children related issues will have a positive outcome.

Virgo

Mercury trine Pluto from August 14 to 16 is the most intense period of the whole month. This is an ideal time for some psychological self-analysis.

Libra

An increased attractiveness boosts your chance of success generally. You can be more up front than normal without worrying about offending others. Your directness and confidence will win your admiration and support. This month you can focus on your immediate objectives and make solid gains, without interference or setbacks.

Scorpio

You should be feeling optimistic and very satisfied with your lot now. The August 29 full moon will emphasize the growth and good fortune on your home and family life. Intimate relationships will also benefit from this. Venus retrograde all month means you may have to deal with some unresolved karma associated with previous relationships.

Sagittarius

The best time of the whole month is the first week. You should schedule appointments or important matters at this time. The focus of this month is your love life, social life in general and also your finances. All business deals and negotiation should be profitable. It would be an ideal time to start a holiday or new course of studies.

Capricorn

You could start a vacation, get a promotion or begin new studies in August. The main theme of this growth phase is expanding your horizons to gain more satisfaction out of life. Although the gains and successes you make now may not be exciting or dramatic, they will go a long way to improving your longer term outlook.

Aquarius

This is not the time to be pushing your agenda or going on the offensive. To reduce the risk of confrontation, stick to routine and avoid provoking others. This is a defensive phase of life where you must concentrate on holding your ground. Astral Peeks: What’s happening celestially in August.

August 12, 13 - Perseids Meteor Shower. The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak. The Perseids are famous for creating a large number of bright meteors. The shower runs annually from July 17 to August 24. It peaks this year on the night of August 12 and the morning of August 13. The thin crescent moon will be no match for the bright Perseids this year so be ready for a great show. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Perseus, but can appear anywhere in the sky.

August 14 - New Moon. The Moon will located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be observable in the night sky.

August 29 - Full Moon, Supermoon. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be will be fully illumined. This is the first of three supermoons for 2015. The Moon will be at its closest approach to the Earth and may look somewhat larger and brighter than normal.
