In General: This week begins with a Sun square Jupiter. We may be aware of restlessness and a general dissatisfaction with life as we know it. We need to break out of routines and expand our world. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on Saturday, June 26th, occurs in the sign of Capricorn. This emphasizes our need for more challenge and opportunity in our world. It is a time when we suddenly understand our deeper desires or needs. It is wise to consider that the effects of a lunar eclipse last approximately 3-6 months. What comes about now will have longer term effects. This Lunar Eclipse asks us to look more intimately at our needs, deficiencies, and wishes. In some ways, this Full moon also deals with the balance between loving for love’s sake and loving with conditions attached. On many levels we will be asking ourselves about the nature of our attachments and why we have them. Saturday 26 June is the commanding lunar eclipse forming a Grand Square involving the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. Upheavals of all sorts are likely around this time, including social and political unrest, more economic collapse, and more unfortunate earthquakes and volcanic activity. Mercury is in Cancer from June 25-July 9. When Mercury is in Cancer, we reflect, converse, and take in information with a deeper, more intuitive intensity. Our feelings and thoughts are tinted by our emotions. For those with birthdays this week the year ahead will be an intense and meaningful one where listening to that inner voice will become imperative. On the world scene we can expect this week to bring some deep issues to the surface, both physically and figuratively!! Locally we might find it a good time to reassess our journeys.

The Secrets of the Universe are hoped to be revealed as a new telescope equipped with the world's most powerful digital camera begins its observations of the night sky.The Pan-STARRS sky survey telescope -- known as PS1 -- will enable scientists to better understand the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy, the material that is thought to account for much of the mass of the universe but has never been proven to exist.
Astronomers from the Universities of Durham, Edinburgh and Queen's University Belfast together with researchers from around the world are using the telescope to scan the skies from dusk to dawn each night. Scientists believe the device, which was built by the University of Hawaii, will provide vital clues into the nature of dark energy and dark matter. They hope to use images of galaxies to validate Einstein's theory of general relativity. The telescope, which took more than a decade to develop, will also pinpoint new supernovae -- stellar explosions -- as well as near-earth asteroids. It is also able to track fast-moving objects and exploding stars across nearly the whole sky.
